I understand that. If the Oscars still amounted to more than a hill of beans, I would definitely concentrate on condemning those "black leaders" as total hypocrites. As long as they have the BET awards and the Ebony awards, let them not talk to me about discrimination at the Oscars. If they aren't today producing a Sidney Poitier or a Morgan Freeman, that's not my fault, nor that of any white Academy member or honoree.
It's just that that the Oscars are a sick joke today. Time was when it amounted to something even to get a nomination for an Oscar. But today it's all political--inside Hollywood or outside. It makes me sick. That's why I couldn't care all that much about the black boycott of the Oscars. Because I am boycotting the Oscars, though for different reasons.
