No, I did not have the occasion to celebrate this day in New Orleans, but Mardi gras (fat Tuesday) is enjoyed today in many countries and places, as it is the last day of Carnival. Lent starts on Ash Wednesday.

I could only see pictures of New Orleans, Venice, Cologne, etc., as here, Mardi gras is not an official holiday:

Nope.  Don't really have any desire to go, either.  Way too many people in one place for my liking.

I haven't.....the beads seem easy to acquire for certain people however....
