Mallya was known as the “King of Good Times” before the 2012 collapse of his Kingfisher Airlines, which left thousands of workers unemployed and millions of dollars in unpaid bills. He also owns large ships, properties across the world. He also has the trade relationship with Donald Trump.

In September 2010, Mallya bought a penthouse in Trump Plaza for $2.4 million. The 37-story residential tower is considered one of the most expensive residential complex in New York. His neighbors in the tower include businessman Donald Trump, actor Bruce Willis, singer Beyonce and Tony Embry.

The 17 Indian banks which gave the loan has no idea about how to get the money from him.
