Seriously, you just can't make stuff like this up.  Apparently, a 'dog whistle' has taken on a whole new, totally neologistic meaning.

I don't understand your objection

It's not so much an objection as curiosity.  I don't remember ever seeing the term used in this fashion before the last six months or so.  Anytime people play fast and loose with the language it makes me nervous in that special (George) Orwell kind of way.

@ Transquesta:

I hadn't heard of it either, but it seems to have been around for close to 30 years.

"According to William Safire, the term "dog whistle" in reference to politics may have been derived from its use in the field of opinion polling. Safire quotes Richard Morin, director of polling for The Washington Post, as writing in 1988, "subtle changes in question-wording sometimes produce remarkably different results.... researchers call this the 'Dog Whistle Effect' "

No, I say flat out what I mean, or keep quiet altogether.

No I don´t, it was pretty hard to understand that wikipedia article.

"Dog whistling" just means using oblique political language that your followers will understand, but the outsiders that you are saying bad things about won't understand.

Okay I see.
