Yes, of course they vote for money in the USA, but not in quite the same way.

Generally speaking, the Democrats promise more and more government spending, and of course the people who would benefit from that spending will tend to vote for Democrats.

And Republicans promise to cut taxes and spend less (or at least limit the rate of increase in spending), and of course the people who would benefit from having to pay less taxes will tend to vote for Republicans.

I'm a bit confused on how people in India vote for money.

American people seem to either vote for the political rhetoric they like better or the party they have always voted for (because they like that parties political rhetoric). Money does come into play in both what "TheOtherTink" said but also because buying advertisements for negative ads seems to get people to vote against some at times.
