Wow - it looks more like a kind of scary roller coaster!

by

Exactly!  A roller coaster comes to my mind, too.  I would never want to ride on that bridge!

Looks can be deceiving, Marianne. :D

Lol - I know that photos can be modified and distorted.

Still, it looks weird and, somehow, a bit like the "Drunken Bridge" in Norway.

@MidnightCowboy

Indeed, the picture was really fooling many among us, at least those who did not see a realistic picture of this bridge.

Check the picture of the steepest cog railway of the world.

@ Marianne:

The drunken bridge is just to disorient motorists in Norway, so they can arrest them for drunken driving. The fines are exceptionally high there, and of course the government wants all the money it can get. :)

What nonsense.

Your picture was taken with a telephoto lens, which greatly distorts perspective.

The steepest grade on this bridge is about 6%.  There are a number of streets in San Francisco with grades of over 30%, five times steeper.

Watch this video through to the end, and you will see that the scariest thing about this bridge is that they drive on the wrong side of the street in Japan.  :D

Lol - if seen from this perspective, it is, indeed, not so interesting. :D

Here's another picture found on-line:

About scary slopes, here's the steepest rack railway of the world:

I hope the machinery is in good repair.  :O

Such touristic attractions are attended with care. Sadly enough, many of our old attractions have been replaced by modern means ...

Unfortunately, I cannot share my own pictures of an excursion on this page.

@ Marianne:

They look like more fun than Disney World rides.  :)

by

Oh yes, it was fun - and we got soaked by a downpour right after our arrival at the bottom station - lol.

by

Oh, too bad!  Patschnass! :(

by

@TheOtherTink

We had quite a few soaking excursions and experiences, with lots of laughs and fun.

"Patschnass" is correct, like "pitschnass".
