Easy one! Parrot Head on Roi-Namur. Beautiful there and not a tourist trap.

That is beautiful! Gotta find a boat and some oars...they're 'round here somewhere.....can't forget my can if flex seal, just in case my boat leaks!

Angela, this answer is perhaps somewhat unique to my own experience, but when I left Iowa after five years I ended up at Bodega Bay and spent one week there, I loved it SO much. Born on the Pacific raincoast, I had never been away from the ocean for more than a few days in my whole life...so there in the beautiful American heartland, I had a feeling of not being able to breathe somehow! (I have actually talked to other people, and they describe similar experiences...)

Anyway, I decided the sea air gets in your blood somehow, and it becomes hard to function without it...so as much as I loved Iowa, I was nearly in tears to arrive at the Pacific Ocean again...Bodega Bay is in California of course, north from San Francisco, incredibly beautiful, and they let you just camp from your car no charge!

I've never been to a tropical beach, but Siesta Key off Sarasota, Fla is pretty good. :)

There are many beautiful and famous tropical beaches, and Pacific, Caribbean, South and South-East Asian beaches are, probably, among the most appreciated, though often overrun by vacationers and tourists - or too "exclusive":

Among the renown beaches I had the opportunity to see (and all of them were a wonderful experience, but most were not so tropical - lol), I'll cite those which impressed me most:

Bondi Beach, Sydney

further (less tropical but what a sight!) - Ocean Beach, San Francisco

and a small beach in Crimea at the Black Sea (neither tropical)

or, rather long ago, Watamu Marine National Park, Kenya

or on Helsinki's shore islands (not tropical at all, but beautiful)

And, regarding some of the great Mediterranian beaches, they were/are often perfectly organised - for comfort, sports, visiting, tours, gastronomy, arts, wellness, glamour and fun (but often, you hardly see the beach - lol):
