In Phoenix, the petunias and snapdragons are in full bloom.

Oh yeah. My garden us a blaze of colour just now. But then, when you live in a place where summer lasts far into autumn and there's very little winter at all, it's not hard to find plenty of flowers.

We walk our dog in the forest most mornings and just at present this little wild flower is showing its face. It's a wildflower and is called a fringed violet.

Thanks, Cowboy. They're fairly shy and we don't see many but at this time of the year they open their eyes and have a look around.

No, not even the crocuses are up yet, it's too early.  Besides, we had sub-zero weather last weekend.  :O

Hamamelis or witch hazel (mainly Chinese witch Hazel, H. mollis or hybrids), in gardens

Primrose (Primula vulgaris)

Snowdrop (Galanthus nivalis), mainly in gardens

Hellebores (Helleborus orientalis and other kinds), mainly in gardens

sometimes also common daisies (in mild winters)

and some other early flowering plants.

On Long Island New York we don't have anything yet but within a week or two we probably will get crocuses with the nice weather we've been having
