I know a person who whined about their financial problems in an online game chat room, and subsequently, another gamer decided to help out monetarily by depositing $500 into a Paypal account that was set up for said purposes. Once this account was set up and the money was deposited, the recipient transferred the money into their bank account. Now, their Paypal account is in the red for the entire amount. I'm guessing payment was stopped or is in dispute? I don't know, exactly, but a good portion of the money has been spent already. I decided to keep the following opinion to myself, and just tell them that it will all work out in the end. (pretty generic response, I know)
Personally, I'd never accept money from someone I never met in person. In fact, I find it difficult to accept gifts of cash-money from people I do know in real life, even relatives. I'm always suspicious of free money, admittedly, so maybe I'm just being judgemental here? If you felt the same as I do about this situation, would you voice your true opinion or just think your thoughts and walk away?
