A microburst, last summer.  It lasted about 5 minutes and did a lot of damage with trees falling down (some onto houses), due to the 80 mph winds, which came without warning. At first, I thought it was a tornado, but later learned it was just the opposite, with a strong downdraft, rather than an updraft.

I live nine miles from the Beach. Two weeks ago we had a tornado land four miles from our house. Ive lived here thirty years and that has never happened before. Its almost unheard of around here. What is going on?
