Having passed the enlistment physical, Jon was asked by the doctor, "Why do you want to join the Navy, son?"

"My father said it'd be a good idea, Sir."

"Oh? And what does your father do?"

"He's in the Army, Sir."

Boy is that ever familiar! My old man dragged me to the recruiting station and told me to go in there and join the Navy, just like he had. I joined the Army! He did the same with my older brother and he joined the Marines! LOL.  :D :D :D

Lol - Rooster, what coincidence! Even better than the joke.

Don't forget the Naval Valkyries at Mürwik, Rooster:) :) :)

Marianne TheOtherTink

Wow, T(h)ink, that looks really great. :):D

LOL Marianne! My brother as a child always dreamed of the Navy; so he joined, but it turned out to be a great disillusionment!

Marianne Virginia

Oh, Virginia, that is too bad - he might have landed in the wrong group, or, maybe that he would have been happier in the army.

Virginia Virginia

Marianne, my brother was very bright, very intelligent...however, one of those people for whom the world was just too difficult. He died age only 54, and I am convinced it was PTSD undiagnosed; he was in Vietnam.

Marianne Virginia

Oh, Virginia, that is so sad. :(

Virginia Virginia

Marianne, as I get older I become more convinced that the world is just too difficult for some people, those of tender heart...I tend to have a special empathy for alcoholics, for example...

Marianne Virginia

Lol, Virginia, yes, many people have great difficulties to deal with too hard realities, and I wouldn't throw the "first stone".
