Yes, I did.

There is even some speculation that Rosenstein is Himmler's son! LOL. The resemblance between the Nazi pig farmer and Rosenstein is close. That's for sure.

Tink I had not, and in fact had to look everything up, here... "Rod Jay Rosenstein born January 13, 1965 is an American attorney serving asUnited States Deputy Attorney General since 2017."

...

"In May 2017, he authored a memo which President Trump said was the basis of his decision to dismiss FBI Director James Comey."

"Later that month, Rosenstein appointed special counsel Robert Mueller to investigate alleged ties between the Trump campaign and Russia during the 2016 election and related matters based on the firing of Comey."

...all this from Wikipedia.

Oh, and this about Himmler...I have been amazed and rather horrified; because as a lover and believer in mythology, it turns out Nazi Germany appropriated much of their validation from folklore, as well as some of the great philosophers.

"Himmler had a lifelong interest in occultism, interpreting Germanic neopagan and Völkisch beliefs to promote theracial policy of Nazi Germany, and incorporating esoteric symbolism and rituals into the SS."

At least he doesn't look like this truly evil person!

Yes, Virginia, Himmler was big on Nordic mythology.  He developed neo-pagan religious ceremonies for SS marriages, (non-Christian) baptisms and funerals.

But Rooster, Himmler was Heydrich's boss...

@Tink: Heydrich was the one who wrote and planned "The Final Solution" and if he would have lived? He probably have had Himmler taken out so he could become head of the S.S. He was far more evil than even Himmler and a cold blooded killer.

Virginia Virginia Jul 19

Well, I had never heard of Heydrich...but his photo is quite fascinating...quite handsome, in a delicate Nordic way...he certainly looked his Aryan part!

Wikipedia has this: 'Many historians regard him as the darkest figure within the Nazi elite; Adolf Hitler described him as "the man with the iron heart" '.

...and this: 'He excelled in his schoolwork—especially in science...He was shy, insecure, and was frequently bullied for his high-pitched voice and rumoured Jewish ancestry. The latter claim earned him the nickname "Moses Handel." '

Wounded during an assassination attempt. he died when only 38 years old...after he organized the murder of two million Czechs, of whom 1.3 million were Jewish...

Human beings can be scary.

Interesting Tink, the invoking of a mythical, mystical warrior heritage in that context. I was unaware of the extent of that until seeing the video you found...

One of my friends born in Nazi Germany, i think she is a couple of years older than me - born perhaps 1941 or 1942...her mother wanted to name her "Elfie," but that was disallowed as a first name, too magical. So her mother compromised with Dagmar, the warrior queen as first name, and then Elfie was allowed as the middle name!

Yes, Virginia, and names from Wagnerian operas were popular too, like the valkyries, Brünnhilde and Sieglinde.

Tink, I just 'saw' in mind's eye...about a year ago, either you or Marianne posted a video, the Wagner opera...all the Valkyries, opera singers coming down onstage... so impressive...

Virginia, I don't remember posting it, so it probably was Marianne.

Yes, this I think you would remember...it was as if they were truly arriving!
