Fireworks are legal in Phoenix, but here is the funny part, you can possess them as long as you are 18 and over and look at them in the box, but you can't shoot them off.  If you are caught shooting off fireworks, you can face a heavy fine.

yes, they are, but only within the last few years.  I have a couple of fireworks stores within a reasonable drive with everything you could ever want.

They're legal in the county from the middle of June through the 6th of July.  You're not allowed to shoot them off within city limits, although most everyone does.  The neighborhood I live in now is pretty cool about it.  Everyone shoots off fireworks and nobody calls the cops.   I had a neighbor in an old neighborhood who would call the cops if anyone so much as stood on the sidewalk in front of their house holding a sparkler.

Honestly, I don't know the answer... I think they're legal to own, but not legal to shoot off (without permission for a couple of different sources) but people shoot them off anyways (I assume without permission, just doing it, since I don't think they really enforce it unless a bigger problem or issue comes of it).

Not really.   Another stupid law from our nanny asses in the capitol.

They legalized ( ready for it)  fountains, sparklers, snakes, and snaps.  ( whoo-hoo). Only from the middle of June until july 5th and then from the middle of December until January 2nd.  A seller isn't allowed to have any stock outside of those dates.   Even freaking smoke bombs are still technically illegal.

It sucks and is dumb.
