A lot of Yes, and a little bit of No.
George was brilliant, funny, incisive, with the kind of intelligence that cut through bullshit with ease, and he could keep everybody laughing while he did it.
But I really disliked his bad language. He didn't need it. A subject isn't funny just because it's delivered with a lot of four-letter words (all of which I have used myself, and still do when they're warranted) and I thought it was a shame that he took that particular tack. Strong language should be used for impact, not as a substitute for expression.
Check out his address to the National Press Club Luncheon (it's on YouTube). He kept a room full of jaded reporters laughing for an hour and didn't swear once.
Orright, orright, I'll admit to being old-fashioned but that was my only reservation. I liked the guy.
