Did you know that the world's longest nose belongs to Mehmet Ozyurek and measures 8.8 cm?

Um... I hesitate to speculate about what some of his other measurements may be. :O :angel:

by

There is no scientific data to indicate that any relationship exists between the size of a man's nose and his, ah, feet.

by

Donald Trump agrees with you, Didge.  :D

And Ozyurek's wife must have been relieved to learn that.   :)

There's an old saying on the flip side of the planet: "Big man big prique; little man all prique." It wouldn't take much imagination to fit Mr Trump in there somewhere. :P

Worlds biggest onion ! Big mother !

by

Now there's a challenge. How big would a steak have to be to match up to that onion when it was fried? And if such a steak existed, would there be a new record set for eating the world's largest steak in one sitting?

by

Well, Didge, if you assume the pictured onion is about 8 inches in diameter and about 12 inches tall, it would have a volume of about 25 ordinary-size onions.  Assuming that the pictured onion has the same water content and density of an ordinary onion, and that one ordinary onion would go with an 8-oz steak, the steak to go with the large onion should be about 12.5 lbs.  The winner of the annual Nathans hot-dog eating contest (who can scarf down 60 or 70 hot dogs in 10 minutes, if I remember correctly) might be able to manage a 12.5 lb steak plus the onion, but he would need more than 10 minutes for chewing. :)

Dang, Tink, that's scientific! I was just wondering and you worked it all out. :)

Wow - that reminds of Rostand's Cyrano de Bergerac and his big nose!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyrano_de_Bergerac_(play)

And there was, though, a real Cyrano de Bergerac - novelist, playwright, duelist - i.e. Savinien de Cyrano de Bergerac:

There are lots of Guinness world records:

Those lemons are very testicular! I wonder what that makes the guy beneath them?

@ Didge:

He looks a bit scrofulous to me.  :P

by

Or even scrotulus!

My spell checker hated that. :(

by

@ Didge:

These spell checkers are very stodgy when it comes to coining new words. :wassat:

by

@Didge

Oops - lol - now that you mention it ... :O :angel: :D

That looks indeed scrofulous, as T(h)ink says, and I could add definitions like scabrous and salacious.

Lol - your creation would be a great rhyme, but the regular "al" ending is "tenacious" and - perhaps - less salacious.

But there are much more suggestive fruits, like the sea coconut

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lodoicea

or certain "ugly" fruits and vegetables.

:D:D:D

by
@T(h)ink

Lol - this one is more suggestive:

(Lodoicea maldivica)

Funny, the ending "...ulous" reminds me also of "ridiculous", or "cuculus", a cockoo genus (and if you remove one of the "cu" particles, you will find the "a" word in English and German, and the "c" word in French and Italian (and Spanish and Portuguese), which becomes rather often "cul-cul") - lol.

OMG, Marianne, tell her to put some clothes on!  I'm blushing!  :blush: And on a public website!  :O

:D

by

Lol - would an extra large bermuda help? :D:angel::D

by

@ Marianne:

I don't care where she's doing it... it's indecent exposure!  :O :blush: :D

by

@T(h)ink

There seems to be a shortage of decent clothing for this size - :O:blush::angel::D.

by

@ Marianne:

Then she had better stay at home.  :D :blush: :O :angel: :)

by

Well - she is at home - on or under the tree, or at the museum! :D:D

by

In the adult section of the museum, I hope!  :blush: :D

by

Lol - is there an adult section at the museum?

It is probably the:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seychelles_Natural_History_Museum

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seychelles

or, in nature

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Praslin

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curieuse_Island

(... there seems to be no mention about minimum age ...)

But wait a minute - there are erotic or sex museums (or sections) in several places:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sex_museum

and, in NYC, with minimum age (18 years):

Fifth Avenue at 27th, eh?  Thanks for the info, Marianne!  I'll go there this weekend.  :)

by

@T(h)ink.

Lol - :O:angel::D:D:D.

Thank you for the good laugh - just super!

by

@ Marianne:

Only please don't tell anyone I'm going there.

I have my reputation to think of.  :blush: :O :D

by

@T(h)ing

Lol - I won't :D:D:D.

image

by
@ Marianne:

I went there yesterday, wearing a disguise.
They had never seen anyone there with a burqa before.  :)
by

Clever! ☺

by

@T(h)ink

Lol - take your pick.

by

The ghost I met at the museum wasn't wearing a sheet... she was stark naked. :O :blush: :D

by

Lol - and how did you react? :blush::O:D

by

I wondered if she was cold, until I realized she was made of wax.  :D

But then I complained to the management, explaining that such depictions were in violation of Sharia law.

At that point, they refunded my admission money and escorted me to the exit.  :O

by

Lol - oops - that couldn't have been a ghost.

But I remember having visited Madame Tussauds wax museum in London - long ago.

And there was neither a ghost.

:)

by

@ Marianne:

But surely a wax Lady Godiva must have been there?  :O :blush: :D

by

I can't remember - there were so many historical and more recent celebrities, and I visited several museums and monuments.

:blush::angel::D
