I think it's a big mistake that Marco Rubio will later regret.

It's a political calculation, obviously.

If Rubio retains his Senate seat, and he probably will, if he wants to run for president in 2020, it will be good for him among the Trump supporters that he didn't betray Trump. That, coupled with a large Hispanic vote, figures to make him a strong candidate.
