What Is Agony Of The Spirit?

Well for me, I might have said it's when you discover that your own beloved USA is NOT about "freedom and justice for all," nor is it about "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness;" rather the USA is more and more about the profit margin...

However, I am feeling a bit mystical today so I found this quote from the 13th century poet Rumi; "What is agony of the spirit? To advance toward death without seizing hold of the Water of Life."

So what do y'all think?

Well, it some cases, agony of the spirit was brought on by seeing Trump inaugurated.

I'll have to do a bit of research to find more esoteric causes, worthy of Rumi.  ;) <3

Oh Tink, good thing it is only 8:30 PM here because I laughed and laughed!

...here in the heart of Trump country, I sometimes forget I am NOT the only one in the world without total unquestioning faith in Brother Donald... :D  :'(  <3

Oh and a limerick too!

Anyway, Rumi would be delighted I'm sure, at your interpretation of his concept...;)

As Tink said, a lot of people were in agony when Trump was elected but I'm sorry, the alternative was even worse. It's all about the money now and has been for quite some time!
