A once unthinkable interview at MSNBC?

Oh, how the mighty have fallen.  This interview would have been utterly unthinkable on MSNBC a mere two years ago.

The moral?  Don't become politically powerless when the Left has an ulterior motive for bashing you.

I saw some of that yesterday but the sight of him usually makes me want to change the channel but they did grill him pretty good. He still lies just as good as he used to but the interviewer really got at him. I wish his wife would get the same kind of interview. That would be interesting.

Tink, if you would be so kind as to parse this out a bit? 

"Oh, how the mighty have fallen.  This interview would have been utterly unthinkable on MSNBC a mere two years ago." Unthinkable...do you mean that MSNBC is known for liberal bias, and so would not have taken him on critically in the past?

"The moral?  Don't become politically powerless when the Left has an ulterior motive for bashing you." So, are you indicating that Clinton has become politically powerless now? Is that really so, is he politically powerless? And then, what is the motive of the Left for bashing him?

Yes, Virginia, MSNBC is liberal, and they supported Hillary (or at least were/are vehemently against Trump), and everyone expected Hillary was going to be president two years ago, so naturally MSNBC would not have dreamed of conducting such a hostile interview with Bill at that time.

And yes, the Clintons have no more political clout, either as high office holders or as party leaders, given the way the Democratic party has shifted.  The aim of the Left in the Me Too movement is not so much to dredge up Bill's old sex scandals as it is to hit Trump for his, in order to hurt him politically.

Well Tink, especially in light of your comments, I thought Clinton conducted himself well...he would be aware of all those (rather scurrilous) dynamics...oh, and I noted an elsewhere comment, that Bill himself in old age is not as verbally agile as his prime.

He did whaaat?  "Defended the Constitution"???  Your foot's in your mouth again, Bill.
