Short answer is yes, I think so Kninjanin.
But I have encountered another idea, also; and that is, the possibility that politicians (and others) use race to divide the middle/working classes against each other, and thus maintain power over us all.
And one example is the social unrest going on right now -- the efforts to emphasize the racial aspect of the killing of George Floyd. (See Tink's post...the Congressional propaganda show.)
Some of the commentators I consider reliable are now bringing out the possibility that the protests are also a reaction to the increasing oppression of most Americans by a few elite. Here is a recent post by Kim Iversen; she is not only a creative thinker, but in a way she is uniquely American -- her father an Idaho farmer, her mother a Vietnamese refugee (and she often says things that are politically incorrectness). It's a 30-minute video, but she makes her case in the first 8 1/2 minutes, the rest is filling in.
